Through the Hack the Pentagon program, the DoD has launched two distinct initiatives that harness the power of ethical hackers to scour the DoD’s applications, websites and networks for vulnerabilities. While one effort leverages an open bug bounty model to test its public-facing properties, the second, led by Synack, takes a private, managed approach to testing its more sensitive, mission-critical assets.
